Acupuncture is the art of moving Qi (Chi) through, in and out of
the body to establish harmony. I have learned auricular (ear),
face, hand and scalp acupuncture. In 1985, I was introduced to
micro-current acupuncture. And in 2006, I was re-introduced to
color light micro-current acupuncture.
To many Americans, they think of needles all over the body as they
see in the movies. Acupuncture is more than needles...concepts of
body energies. We know that color affects those energies and can
enable the body to healer itself. Acupuncture is a great modality
for Wellness...Chinese's concepts fit Wellness like a glove. I do
not think that acupuncture should be thought of as the last source
for chronic conditions. The mindset, well what else can I
do...nothing else work, so let's try acupuncture...is all too
familiar.
How do I use acupuncture (needles and needles-less) in my
practice?
Pain Management: Acute and
chronic pains respond very well. Often patients get needles but do
not incorporate acupuncture principles into their lives. You may
have read a study where the needle did not work in LI-4 for this
condition. As you read the study, it becomes very apparent that the
author(s) don't understand acupuncture. Acupuncture may stop the
pain and reduce inflammation. Electro-massage works out knots,
tender trigger points and relieves muscle disorders and pain.
Orthopedics Rehab: It is
great for a healing fracture or limb injury. The micro-current
enable to body to heal faster and with less pain medicine.
Post-op pain: I used it for
C-sections and hysterectomies wounds and episiotomies. It is great
for cosmetic surgeries...facelifts, abdominal tucks and liposuction
surgeries.
Scars: A scar may stop or
interfere with the flow of Qi (Chi) causing pain or tingling
sensation in the body. Acupuncture can neutralize the scar.
Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue
Syndrome: Microcurrent and color light can treat
the trigger points. Electronic micro-curent meridian balancing
body's polarity fields can relax nervous system and may build
energy. Electro-massage improves energy flow in your body.
Peripheral Neuropathy:
Polarized micro-current acupuncture can relieve pain, often improve
gait and may slow degeneration along with incorporating acupuncture
concepts.
Respiratory disorders: It
can relax chest to stop / relieve asthma. I don't use it in the
acute stage, but during remission. Electro-massage works great for
children...incorporate acupuncture principles such as clean air,
water and food. It has been demonstrated to stimulate immune system
through neuro-peptide effects. The lung meridian governs the immune
system. The color light acupuncture is affected to reduce
congestion, relax chest and stop wheezing.
Headache: The current can
reduce points on head as well as tonify (strengthen)
distal points.
Eyesight: The micro-current
acupuncture is great for vision. It may be a great resource in
age-related macular degenerative disease, prevention of cataract
and glaucoma.
Digestive Disorders:
Balancing the nervous sytem and treat acupuncture meridians
(pathways). Acupuncture principles are great for digestive problems
with the assistance of herbs and water.
Facial
Rejuvenation/Anti-Aging: As a Wellness
doctor/Anti-aging doctor, I am looking forward to using color light
energy to revitalize the face and other parts of the body. I was
introduced to color light energy concepts by Darren Starwynn,
O.M.D. I used the traditional micro-current facial rejuvenations
during the 80's. Cosmetic surgery curtail my practice but people
are coming back to a less dramatically way of maintaining the face.
PNE Balancing: Balancing Spirit, Mind and Body for Wellness.
I thank Dr. Darren Starwynn for his seminar, notes and passion for
acupuncture. I look forward to attending his seminars because
researchers help me to keep current.
